THE TEAM AT GREEN APPLE CARPENTRY: Founding partner Elise Merrow discovered her passion for creative carpentry more than 20 years ago when she began transforming her own apartment in Harlem. Over the years she has removed walls, built beds, shelves, and closets, and multi-use furniture; in the process she discovered that she has a knack for custom carpentry and handy-woman work. In her own words, “Making the best use of small spaces now comes naturally.”
Construction Manager Alex Valdivia was raised in a rural Nicaragua farming community, where he helped build, and then improve, his family’s home. Before coming to the United States, he worked with a contracting company building houses, and then as a welder/locksmith. In his own words, “I bring the family tradition of ingenuity and integrity to all my work."
Together, they formed Green Apple Carpentry in 2019.

Besides custom carpentry, we mount everything from TV's to art to sliding barn doors. We weld*, we repair, we adjust windows, doors , interior design and more. *Alex welding part of the railing for custom loft bed with drawer stairs (designed by Elise for an unusual space for young child's bedroom)
